Brandied Cheddar Cheese

1 lb. sharp American cheese, shredded
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. sugar
Dash of cayenne
1/2 c. brandy


Have cheese and butter at room temperature. Add sugar, cayenne, and 1/4 cup brandy; mix or beat with electric mixer until quite smooth. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup brandy, mixing until creamy. Store in covered crock in refrigerator. Keeps indefinitely. Makes about 2 cups.
